Individual Counseling

These sessions address underlying mental health conditions that may be negatively impacting your athletic performance.  Often, symptoms of anxiety, depression or other clinical concerns need to be addressed.  If you are struggling to complete tasks, can't fall asleep at night, experience decreased appetite or enjoyment in activities, or feel like your mind won't shut off, there is a good chance that you would benefit from mental health care.

Molly accepts private pay clients, and is currently in network with Centivo, Aetna, BCBS, and Medcost.

Brainspotting

Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting is a neurophysiological technique that locates points in the client’s visual field to access and process trauma on a deeper level.  Brainspotting utilizes the brain and body’s natural abilities to heal itself. Brainspotting can also be used for performance expansion, moving our abilities past perceived limits.

In sports, athletes often experience secondary trauma (seeing others get injured) in addition to experiencing physical trauma (injury) themselves.  While these incidents often aren’t considered “traumatic,” rather just a part of the game, our mind and body record them as traumatic events. These events get trapped in the brain and the body and often interfere with performance.  By processing these on a subcortical level, Brainspotting is a method to unlock and release these so that they no longer impede performance.

This Is Your Brain on Sports: Beating Slumps, Blocks, and Performance Anxiety for Good! (Grand & Goldberg, 2020) is a great resource to learn more about how brainspotting can be used with athletes.

I am currently trained in Brainspotting Phase I and II, and in the process of becoming a Certified Brainspotting Therapist.
